Thanks for your support in 2024!

That's a wrap for the year! Below are some of the highlights from a great year and things to look forward to in 2025.

But first, please take a few minutes to give us your views……

Geni.Energy is always seeking to deliver for our community, creating new jobs and opportunities from renewable energy.

To do this better, we would love your feedback on these quick questions.

Around Here in 2024

The NARRABRIGHT festival was a great opportunity to show off the light show in some local Electric Vehicles. The kids loved it.

For the third year in a row, we once again were proud to sponsor the Narrabri Junior Blue Boars and see the kids thrive in the sport they love! If you see them at a game across the region you will see Geni.Energy on the jersey - make sure you say Hi.

With international visitor, Dr Michael Hendryx and Hedda Askland we held an event with in-depth discussions on the "Economic Diversification in a Net Zero Future".

We were proud to host the screening of "Walanbaa Ngiiyani: Stronger Together", a film featuring local Gomeroi community members and their solidarity with Pacific Islanders in the face of climate impacts to their homes.

Out and About in 2024

Locals attended the Coalition for Community Energy Congress in Sydney. We heard about community energy projects around the nation and Sally presented an update on the Narrabri Community Battery Trial Project.

We attended Renewable Manilla Festival, alongside the Clean Jobs Alliance, New England Northwest team, talking to people about the >15,000 jobs coming out of renewables in the coming years!

A few from the northwest attended the Renewables in Agriculture National Conference in Toowoomba to hear about the leading agriculture and energy projects.

Along with Maules Creek CWA we attended the FRV solar farm information night at Maules Creek to learn more about this project proposal for 120MW solar/150MWh battery.

People Who Came By in 2024

We loved having the founders of Manilla Solar at two great events with Narrabri locals. This will be Australia's largest community owned solar farm and it is inviting other people to be part of it. See more here https://www.manillasolar.com.au/

We were delighted to host the Moree Secondary School Year Ten boys to talk about the jobs in electrification, and go for a spin in the Electric Vehicle.

In the Media in 2024

Sally did her first podcast on a range of renewable energy topics on Switched On. You can listen to it here:

Geni.Energy was used as an example of a Local Energy Hub as part of a national campaign for shop fronts in towns to help communities maximise the benefits of the shift to renewables.

Tremendous Progress on the Community Battery in 2024

Sally took a visit to the Evo Power battery factory in Melbourne. This is the type of battery that will be installed in Narrabri in early 2025 as the community battery.

We have now made the final decisions on the community battery and have all the approvals in place ready for an install date of March 3rd 2025!!!! We are leading the way on community batteries, with this being one of only a handful of community owned batteries across Australia.

Exciting Plans for 2025

Mark it in your calendar for March 2025 to take part in two fantastic events.

We will officially launch our community battery and we will show off the latest and greatest in community, energy and agriculture from across the region.

Plus there will be stalls about current jobs in renewables, upcoming projects and all things electrification for your home, business and farm.

If you are travelling for the event, bring a car load from your town!
